what causes a high level of thyroglobulin? It is not above the highest range but at the top of the range. I do have a thyroid imbalance. I had hypothyrodism for about 20 years but beginning on Armour I seemed to overdose on a very low dose resulting in hyperthyrodism. My anty TPO is very low so I suspect I do not have Hashymoto :-) I am concerned about my high thyroglobulin. Could that be a part of me being hyperthyroid at the moment?Yours sincerely Brynja Baldursdóttir
hello, I carefully read your situation and i am trying to give you some more information regarding your concerns. You have measured antiTPO antibodies (which resulted negative) but i would suggest you to measure antiTg antibodies that may be responsible for your low levels of thyroid hormones. Regarding the fact that low doses of levothyroxine causes hyperthyroidism, it happens that hashimoto thyroiditis may be converted to hyperthyroidism, that is why you have to check also antireceptor antibodies. Thyroglobuline doesn't give useful information in your case. Hope i was clear with my explanation.
