What Causes A Hard Tender Knot Above The Ankle?
Two weeks ago I banged my shin on the corner of the open dishwasher door. There is a hard tender knot just above my ankle. I can walk with out pain but it makes me uncomfortable most of the time. How should I treat this injury? Hot or cold compresses? I am 68 years old.Mary

Hi,
I can be sprain or bony injury. Use ankle cap apply analgesic ointment externally. Take tab combiflam twice daily after food. Take x-ray ankle joint and consult orthopaedic surgeon to exclude fracture and advise for treatment.
