What Causes A Fluid Filled Painless Bump On The Hip?

I have a pea sized red dot on my hip, non itchy or painful, almost looks like trapped blood. It has been there for months, I just noticed a small white head and squeezed out what looked like the hard white seed of a clogged pore (black head). Any thoughts??

Hi,

As per your query you have fluid filled painless bump on the hip which could be frictional heat generation, hair folliculitis, local infection or hematoma. I would suggest you to:
- Apply cold compresses
- Keep the site clean and dry
- Apply over the counter antibiotics ointment and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain
- Wear loose clothes and avoid sitting for long time.

If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin or antifungal depending upon the diagnosis along with anti inflammatory medications.
