What Causes A Drop In WBC Levels With A History Of Pneumonia?

hello My mother has CLL a few years now and is in a monitoring stage We visit Dr every 6 months. Today her WBC levels were 39,000. Back in January WBC level was 55,000 She had pneumonia 3 weeks ago she has fully recovered from pneumonia The Dr. said because she had pneumonia that could be the reason WBC dropped What is the correlation and how did pneumonia cause the WBC to drop? thank you

hi..your doctor had given right advice.
mostly pneumonia causes increase in WBC count but in some severe case there may drop in WBC count.
