What Causes A Dent In The Tibia At The Fracture Site?

I HAVE A DENT IN MY TIBIA ABOUT 1/3 OF THE WAY UP. I JUST NOTICED IT. I HAD A STRESS FRACTURE 3 MONTHS AGO IN THE SAME AREA AND A BONE CYST WAS SEEN ON THE MRI. PAIN HAS GONE EXCEPT FOR MOMENTARY GLITCHES OF PAIN IN THE BONE BUT THIS DENT JUST CAME UP THIS MORNING. SHOULD I CALL MY ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON?

Hello,

If there was a bone cyst with presence of recent dent then i shall advise you to consult to your orthopedic doctor. In a old case of bone cyst with recent change in architecture with or without associated pain may signify change in behavior of disease. This should be clinically assessed & a x ray or CT should be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Mukesh Tiwari
