What Causes A Dark Bump On The Arm?

I ve had a small dark bump on the arm for a while, but recently it just started to grow. After a 2 day the top came off, I got the white stuff out, but now it s still there. It s hard under it, and clear liquid comes out slowly. Do you know what it is, and when it will go away

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
This sounds like a cyst that opened and drained. However, they are not usually dark so that is a little concerning. It should go away completely in 2-3 weeks if it is a simple cyst. If not, it may be something more serious and in that case you would need to let a doctor look at it to make sure it is not a form of skin cancer.
