What Causes A Cyst On The Back Of Calf With Tightness In Muscles?

I have what I am sure is a cyst on the back of my left calf. Below the knee, under the muscle, on the inner side of the leg. I can feel tightness on the muscle when I stretch my legs out. If I feel around the muscle I can feel a small lump. No other pain in the area. It s not hot or seen from the outside. I know it will have to be dealt with. What type of doctor would do this surgery. My mother has had cyst in her thighs before.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have icyst on the back of calf with tightness in muscles . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like xerotic eczema , senile pruritis , atopic dermatitis , contact dermatitis , varicose vein , baker's cyst or infestations . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to rashes , keep it clean and dry , apply petroleum jelly on it and take antihistamine like benadryl . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like skin patch test or allergy test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants , antibiotics like clarithrimycinor corticosteroid ointment . Doctor may also refer you to general surgeon for surgical excision .
