Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cold sore on the lip with swelling below the jaw which seems to be due to stress, vitamin deficiency, irritation of mucosa due to food ,fruits and drinks, and underlying diseases that weaken immune system. It could be due to viral infection caused by herpes.

Need not to worry. They usually go away by their own without any treatment in week. You should avoid contact with aggravating factors. I would suggest you to take some antimicrobial ointment and start multivitamin supplement containing vitamin B12 and folic acid. You should apply gel containing benzocaine for pain. Apply some antimicrobial ointment as well. If condition persist after 2 weeks then consult dentist for proper examination and to rule out other causes. Drink plenty of fluids.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
