What Causes A Canker Sore In Mouth With A White Center?

Hello. So for the past week I ve had this canker sore, it has slowly been getting better. But it has like a white covering. It s kind of big and its in the front of my mouth where my canine is then I noticed tonight that there is a little bump next to it that almost looks like a pimple. It has somewhat of a whit Tip. It hurts a lot and I ve been doing salt and water washes. Any help to what it is? I have mouth herpes but haven t gotten one in a while. And something like this has never happened to me before. Please help. Kinda scared it s something serious.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain and the explanation of the symptoms it seems that you have a canker sore and due to inflammation there is pain and white centre is due to pus formation..

I would suggest you to consult a dentist and get evaluated and in case it is a canker sore you can do saline gargles.

Gargle with 1:1 solution of milk of magnesia and benadryl can be relieving..

Gargle with diluted hydrogen peroxide with water can be relieving and you can apply milk of magnesia after rinsing..

In case of discomfort during eating you can apply numbing gel like orabase gel over the sore to avoid discomfort while eating..

Application of steroid ointments can also help..

In case of pain you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
