Hello,

I can understand your concern. A bump on the lip could be due to many reasons like infection like herpes, sunburn, allergies, trauma to the area, vitamin deficiency, stress etc.

If this is the only lesion that you have, you can wait for about a week to let it heal. For the relief in pain, you can apply local Benzocaine gel (Mucopain) over the area 3-4 times a day, specially before eating to soothe the pain while eating. In addition, you should start with Vitamin B complex supplements (B-Folcin) once a day for about a month.

If you are having stressful time in life right now, you can start yoga and meditation which will help you to relax.

If the lesion does not decrease or disappear in about a week to 10 days, you should see either a dentist or a dermatologist for examination of the lesion in association with its color, size, texture etc. and further investigations for the confirmed diagnosis and to decide the treatment plan.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. I wish you recover soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
