What Causes A Bump On The Head Of An Infant After Injury?

My 13 month old son fell on the floor from the sofa. It happened Sunday and I noticed a big soft bump on his head just now Thursday. After he fall, he cried for few minutes, hard cry. Then slow down and gets better. I gave him milk and fall asleep as it was his nap time. He was fine since then up to now. Do I need to bring him to the doctor? I am so worried when I touched it.

hi
thanks for posting in HCM
I have understand your concern

bump over the head is because of inflammatory reaction to the injury and swelling of the soft tissue

if the baby had vomiting , loss of consciousness or seizures after fall you have to consider about intracranial bleed.

your baby don't have any of those symptoms

swelling ll come down on its own slowly

no need to worry or no investigations

hope this helps you

thanks
