What Causes A Blister Behind The Gums After Insertion Of Dental Denture?
I had oral surgery on 8/3 to remove a bridge that I've had for 15+ yrs dentist had to remove bridge then the metal post then extract the tooth cavities that were there total of seven right after he insert the denture today when I got home and removed my denture I noticed on my back side a soft bubble like blister appears like it's filled with blood and fluid I have a call in to the dentist however looking for advice
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that a soft bubble like blister filled with blood and fluid seems to be most probably due to irritation of the mucosa with the denture plate leading to irritation, infection and formation of a blood blister secondary to trauma..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a clinical evaluation to exclude for the causes like infection and retained root pieces..
As of now you should avoid wearing the denture, take a soft diet and in case if there is pain and soreness you can apply numbing gel over it.. You can also do warm saline gargles as it will help in its regression..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
