What Caused Itching In The Palms Of My Hands And Rash Around Suture?
I had colon surgery not quite two weeks ago. I have suddenly started sleeping all day long and the palms of my hands itch so bad I could scratch forever and not satisfy this itch it is so intense. No rash or bumps however I developed an itchy rash around two of the four incision sites that were pretty itchy as well with a rash??? I have racked my brain but cannot find the common thread. Please Please help me.

Itching may be due to either irritation or allergy. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.
Antihistaminics like cetirizine would relieve the itching. Apply mild steroid cream on the affected area. Avoid soap contact. If needed,oral steroid may be taken after consulting doctor in tapering dose.
