What Cause Increased Heart Beat After Tennis Match?

Hi - I have always been an active person mainly playing tennis at a good level. I had not been playing for the past few weeks but had been in the gym once a week to keep up my fitness levels. Yesterday I played a tough doubles match which lasted about 3 hours. I was very tired afterwards and 10 hours later I still had an increased heart rate even though I had gone to bed. I am 49 years of age have two children, there is a history of heart problems on my Dads side. I am also going through a divorce at present which brings its own stress. Otherwise I would consider myself to be a health person.

Hi,

I think there is nothing to be concerned;
you didn't play for some time. Although you went to gym, anyway tough double match is quite hard physical activity
also we can't omit the fact that you have a stressful period in your life

Your tachycardia is not dangerous, just keep calm, don't worry and it will disappear gradually.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health

In case of further questions don't hesitate to ask
