What Cause High Blood Pressure And High Stress Test Results?

I am a 40 year old female that exercises (jogs daily) and maintains a healthy weight. My stress test indicated a 40 point drop in systolic pressure while at the peak of exercise. The doctor then sent me for an echocardiogram which came back normal. The EKG is also normal. Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

Factors that cause high blood pressure are many and different. Some are related to your lifestyle.
The most common factors that cause high blood pressure are: salt, fats, egg yolk and high amount of carbohydrates.

To normalize blood pressure you should reduce the amount of salt, fats and carbohydrates from your diet.

To determine the exact diagnosis you need the following tests:
1. Glucose test, to rule out Diabetes mellitus.
2. Lipid test(cholesterol, tryglicerides, LDL-low density lipoprotein and HDL-high density lipoprotein level)
3. Blood test(Azotemia and creatinine level).
4. Measure your blood pressure for 15 days.

Contact your gastroenterologist.

All the best.
Dr. Behar.
