General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Increased frequency of urination can be due to two reasons:
1. One of the symptoms of diabetes mellitus
2. Urinary tract infection
Kindly get your urine tested for Urine routine examination which would include Urine Sugar, Urine albumin and Urine microscopy. If some abnormality is noted in the form of presence of RBCs and increased number of pus cells, you need to get Urine culture and sensitivity test done. It says you have urinary tract infection and has to be given a course of appropriate antibiotics.
If your urine microscopy test is normal and there is indication of sugar or albumin in urine, then you need to get your Random Glucose levels tested in your blood. If any abnormality is detected, then you need an evaluation of diabetes mellitus and treated accordingly.
Hope the information provided would be useful. Wish you good health.
