What Can The Tender Swollen Vein In Armpits Signify?

Hi, under my left armpit, where my arm meets my armpit, I have what feels like a 2 inch long swollen vein (or tendon) that is tender to the touch and a bit achy. I have no other symptoms, no trauma or abnormal exercise. The vein/tendon runs parallel with my arm, and I can feel it between my fingers when I trace or rub it.

Hi

From the description, it looks like you have developed a tender nerve, also called neuritis.
I would advise you to see a neurologist or a physician and get a check up done of the same.
Also if you have any associated abnormality in the form of pain or weakness in the same arm or the hand, then it is surely a cause of concern.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of thrombophlebitis (inflammed thrombosed vein).

If i were your treating doctor i would have asked you to apply a topical heparin sodium gel which would help to resolve this condition.

An oral OTC painkiller like ibuprofen will help you with the pain and swelling associated with it.

take care
regards
