Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Can Cause Lung Congestion And Yellow Sticky Eyes?
My husband, Tom White age 78 has lung congested and matted eyes with yellow matting can hardly see. We are senior citizens and I can not pay 35.00 a month. I am saddened.
I would need additional information to be able to advise properly, but if the yellow discharge from his eyes just recently started, it's possible it's conjunctivitis from an infection ("pink eye") and sometimes using hot wet compresses several times a day is enough to nip this in the bud.
However, there can be other causes of eye discharge as well. I would need to know a lot more about the lung congestion as that can be due to a number of causes including a respiratory infection (which can be the same cause of the yellow eye discharge).
If he has a cough with fever or shortness of breath, he should go in to be seen by a physician in person. Lung congestion can be due to other causes as well, including problems with the heart, but that would not cause the yellow eye discharge.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh,
