What Can Cause Dark Watery Stools After Taking Vicatin For Lower Back Pain?
Over the last week I have had lower back pain. Been using the heating pad and a half of vicatin at night. Stopped meds 24 hrs ago cause I noticed pale stool. Oily and fatty looking. After 24 hrs off meds my stool did change to very watery dark stool with some pale. Kidney infection or reaction to the medication?
I hope you mean Vicodin. Vicodin is an anti inflammatory medicine. It will not cause pale and sticky stools.
I would advise that you should get yourself clinically examined and investigated. Following investigations may be helpful :- 1. Complete Blood Count ( CBC ). 2. Serum amylase and lipase. 3. Liver Function Test ( LFT ). 4. Stool examination.
You should eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions. Also take care of your hydration. Avoid oily foods .
You can take digestive enzyme preparation containing pepsin and fungal diastase after meals.
I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks.
