What Can Cause Chest Pain And Shortness Of Breath After Placing Stents?

I had a heart attack in June they put stents. Since then I have had 2 stress test. One with dye one on the machine. I scored in the 92 percentile. I have had two eco cardiograms done the heart shows extremely well. Last Wednesday the doctor put me on Diclofenac Sod 1/2 (75mg) a pill twice a day for one week maybe two. I will call him on Monday to verify. I keep sensing a little soreness in the heart area and I get short of breath at times. Which is why I was put on the above medication. The doctor said it was because my sternum and ribs may have been bruised or may be inflamed because of the CPR. I was doing fine but this morning after breakfast I feel like I have a slight pain on the top of the heart area and a little shortness of breath when I breath in. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Do you know the meaning of CPR? It is cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Only 2-18% of people may survive after receiving treatment in the hospital after cardiac arrest.

Due to CPR, you may have bruising over the chest and Diclofenac may lead to retention of fluid, which leads to severe cardiac pressure and pain.

The shortness of breath may be due to heart failure or respiratory infection etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Please consult your cardiologist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
