When my daughter was 3 years she had ureteral implants done. Now she is 18 and is having chest pain on her left side of her chest and also in the middle of her chest. I was wondering since she had valve problems before could she be at risk for having heart valve problems now? We do have heart problems that run in the family. Thank you
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Possibility of heart related diseases is less at the age of 18 years but better to rule out heart diseases first because she is having left sided chest pain. So consult cardiologist and get done 1. Ecg 2. 2d echo. If both these are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases. Sometimes, stress and anxiety can cause similar kind of chest pain. So consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in her life and start working on it's solution. She may need anxiolytic drugs too. Ask her to avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Don't worry, she will be alright but first rule out heart diseases. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your daughter. Thanks.
