Hello,

Since you have multiple partners, you are advised to get STD tests done. The symptoms that you are experiencing can be due to STI. If reports show positive result you will be treated for it with antibiotics or antivirals. Get treated. Avoid multiple partners and always perform safe sex, use condoms. If you have allergy to the IUD being used, you can prefer women who have contraceptive implants or are on regular contraceptive pills.

You are suggested to take care of your hygiene, wear soft loose fitting cotton clothes. Your genitals should be kept dry and clean. Your symptoms may be indicative of jock itch. Do not touch or scratch. Doing so will cause spread of infection.

To avoid itching you can shave the area and apply clotrimazole cream and take a course of anti-fungal orally to get rid of the fungal infection. Taking antihistamine at bedtime will help to control symptoms of allergy. Stay away from addictions like alcohol, drugs and smoking.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
