What Are Tingling And Numbness In The Legs Upon Looking Down Post A Chemo Suggestive Of?

My son is recovering from radiation and chemo because of lymph glands found cancerous in his neck and tonsils. He told his oncologist today that when he bends his head forward to look down, he has a strange tingling in his legs, like the feeling when they go to sleep . He came back with a term for it and since we didn t have anything to write a note on, we can t remember what the syndrome is called. He did say it was quite an unusual thing to happen, but does from time to time as a result of chemo.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a neurologist and get evaluated. We have to rule out possible causes like peripheral neuropathy. As of now, you can take vitaminB12 supplements for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
