Hello,

Loxalate (which contains escitalopram) is used to treat depression and generalized anxiety disorder and it is in a class of antidepressants called selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors. The effectiveness of a drug consists in increasing the amount of serotonin in the brain which helps maintain mental balance.

Loxalate is usually taken once a day with or without food. Patients should continue treatment for at least 6 months.

Loxalate can cause such side effects as:
nausea,diarrhea,constipation,
headache,
drowsiness,
increased sweating,
heartburn,
dry mouth,
stomach pain,
increased appetite,
excessive tiredness,
dizziness.
