What Are The Uses And Side Effects Of B12 Injection?

In order to get a boost to lose weight, I went to a weight clinic. I have been getting a B12 injection for the last 6 weeks and have been taking 1/2 tablet of phentermine daily. Today I experienced dizziness and nausea and have elevated blood pressure which I normally control with blood pressure medication and work with my primary doctor and keep in in control. I am concerned, my blood pressure reached 168/92 and pulse of 69. Have tried to call my Doctor but have not yet talked to her. What should I do?

Stop the phentermine. It is a drug related to amphetamines and can cause your blood pressure to go up. It is supposed to act as an appetite suppressant but can have all sorts of side effects without helping much with weight loss. It can cause insomnia, palpitations, anxiety, racing heart, and other symptoms like amphetamines can. B12 injections won't hurt, but they are probably not doing much to help you lose weight. They are usually given to people who have vitamin B12 deficiency or pernicious anemia. Some people feel that they help increase their energy levels. Hope this helps.
