What Are The Underlying Causes For Low Iron Saturation Levels?

What causes low iron saturation levels? I have had many test done in the recent past -last 6 months- and all are normal... Upper endo, colonoscopy, Pill-camera swallow. Also had my gallbladder removed- no post-op issues. But my iron saturation test is low... 7. I have received iron infussion treatments twice now and about to start round 3 this week. Is the itiology sometimes just unknown... And will I just have to continue to have periodic iron infussions the rest of my life? YYYY@YYYY
