What Are The Treatment Options For Low Carnitine Level?

I m a 28 year old male who just recently discovered problems with carnitine levels. My free carnitine is low at 19, my bound carnitine is 62 making my ratio a whopping 3.26. While I wait for results, I have several questions about treatment options...

Hello!

I would explain that it is necessary performing some tests in order to investigate for the possible causes underlying low carnitine plasma levels:
- Complete blood count
- CPK (muscle enzymes)
- Kidney and liver function tests, etc.

Sometimes, this is related to a genetic disorder or to malnutrition. In the meantime, I would recommend taking carnitine supplements.
