What Are The Symptoms Of Presence Of Epithelial Cells?

Abundant Gram Positive Bacilli Moderate Pus Cells Few Epithelial Cells I have an infection right? What does it mean to have a few epitheleal cells, like is that abnormal, what can it lead to etc. And as for the first one, abundant gram positive bacilli, they are rods but it says ABUNDANT, is that horrible? How do we know if it is spore forming, is it treatable by antibiotics? What could have caused all of these?

Hi,

You have not mentioned what test report you have provided. Considering it to be urine analysis, few epithelial cells can be present normally. Abundant bacteria suggests urinary tract infection and has to be treated with antibiotics whether it is spore forming or not spore forming bacteria.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
