What Are The Symptoms Of Potential Diabetes?

I'm on Crestor. Fenofibrate , Effient for about 10 months and have an excessive sweating problem. I have also been on and still am on lisinopril and a water pill but the sweating started when the new meds.started. Can it be the meds or is it more likely a thyroid or beginning of diabetes?

Hello there,
Diabetes is a lifestyle disease which may be present without any symptoms. However some patients may have symptoms when blood sugars are very high like:
1) excessive urination
2)excessive thirst
3)weight loss
Sweating excessively is usually not a symptom of diabetes but rather of low sugars if you are on any sugar lowering medicines (which you dont seem to be on). Sweating could be related to thyroid problem (hyperthyroidism) or even to menopause (Here I do not know whether you are a male or a female or your age).
Did you undergo any heart related procedure recently? I do not understand why you are on Effient?
However, none of the medicines seem to be the reason you are having this problem. You need a thorough evaluation and blood tests to find if there is thyroid problems or any hormonal changes for your sweating trouble. Do visit an endocrinologist who can do the same for you.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
