Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am concerned I may have MS. After many surgeries on my left leg I was left with permanent nerve damage. However, un related I have had vertigo for years and lately I am so tired that I cannot get thru the day without a nap in the afternoon. In the last few weeks I have noticed that my left foot and leg falls asleep and my eyes are starting to dart. Should I be concerned about MS?
Multiple sclerosis can cause a wide range of symptoms and can affect any part of the body. Each person with the condition is affected differently. The symptoms are unpredictable. Some people's symptoms develop and worsen steadily over time, while for others they come and go.
Multiple sclerosis has varied symptoms such as fatigue, numbness, muscle spasms, pain, depression, sexual problems, bowel problems, etc. Most people with MS only have a few of these symptoms. The symptoms can be similar to several other conditions, so they're not necessarily caused by MS.
But if you are still concerned, it is better to talk to your primary care physician who may order some tests to verify.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma,
General & Family Physician
