Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been told that I have a hernia on the right side of belly button along with gall stones and DVT and PE. This morning I rolled over on my stomach in bed and in less than 30 seconds I experienced a sharp pain on the right side (love handle area). The pain has subsided considerable this afternoon. Can you possibly explain what might be going on before I head out to the ER.
The herniated part may be contained part of bowel??If role over it may be herniated or squeezed same time may cause pain. May be biliary colic can cause sharp pain, right renal calculi or colitis is the other possibilities.
Use the Mefenamic Acid if you have pain. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
