What Are The Symptoms Of Blood Clot In The Leg?

what are the symptoms of a blood clot in your leg? Since last Wednesday or so, from my knees to my ankles I am having the worst pain, I can barely walk, been to walk in clinic and ER they find nothing, but not satisfied with their work, the pain goes away A LITTLE with a pain pill but as soon as it fades away the pain is so intense that I can barely walk or move, I wake up in the middle of my sleep, it feels like my legs are completely numb but so painful, have to check to make sure they aren't blue, I have cut back on sodium intake, been taking magnesium vitamins, because they said my body is very low in it, I DONT know what to do ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As a physician I would like to tell you that symptoms of a blood clot in leg are as follows:

- swelling
- pain
- tenderness
- a warm sensation
- pain in your calf when you stretch your toes upward
- a pale or bluish discoloration

Severity of all these symptoms depends on the size of the clot. I would suggest that you should visit a good MD Orthopedician and do a MRI of your leg and further investigations to rule out the clot and establish the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
