What Are The Symptoms Of Bipolar Disorder?

A friend who has been retired almost two years, appears to be having identity crisis and thinks she knows everything about medical issues since retiring as a RN from a pharmaceutical company. She is excessively planning her days , months and even over a year in planning trips, day lunches ,etc. She appears impulsive and just can t relax. Her mother was bipolar and I just wonder if she has some symptoms of mania.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and I can understand your concern. In Bi polar disorder a person has episodes of extreme happiness or depressive lows. Your friend doesn't seem to be having bipolar. But it can be some other form of mania. I would advise you to take her to a psychiatrist and get her assessed. I hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
