What Are The Symptoms Of ADD?

Hi; I have concerns about my 5 year old, I have read some of the symptoms if ADD and he appears to have several of them however when I asked his pediatrician she stated that he may not be getting enough rest so she referred me to some over the counter sleep aid by the name of Melatonin, well that does not work on him at all. My child has a stepsister that has autism and Add both; they act the same way on certain things, is this something hereditary from his dad r should I not be concerned because they do not live in the same house ?

Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your concern

“As” per your clinical history is concerned there are many symptoms which we see in ADD patients the most common is excessive talkative, daydreaming, not listening, forgetful etc so do a clinical evaluation by a psychiatrist in your local area because in childhood to distinguish abnormal behavior is important. So no need of [melatonin]without confirmations.

Hope that helps
