What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For Thyroid Problems?
My wife is recovering from a stem cell transplant treatment for multiple myeloma. Her own stem cells, extracted 5 years ago, were used. Melphalan (sp?) dose was given on July 16, stem cells put in on July 18. We are now 14 days out from the transplant and her blood tests for the typical things related to this transplant are looking good. She has been troubled with chills and fevers for which there is no apparent cause - all tests for infections have been negative. Even before the transplant process she had issues with being too cold or too hot, especially in early morning hours. I m just thinking of other causes for erratic chills/fevers- and I was wondering if a thyroid problem should be considered?
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your wife had too hot and too cold sensation. it can be due to thyroid disease. But fever and chills are not due to thyroid disease. But still she should go for Thyroid hormone test (T3, T4, TSH) once to rule out thyroid disease. Please give me follow up with your report Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
