What Are The Symptoms Pneumonia?

Hi. Dr. Grief, I have been suffereing with shortness of breath, chest pains, dizziness and sinnutis. I have been diagnosed with costochondrotis, mitral valve prolapse and GERD, but I feel as If i may have pneamunia. What are the tell signs of pneamunia as opposed to costochondritis

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In pneumonia one can have
1. Fever with chills, (high grade fever)
2. Tachycardia, perspiration.
3. Tachypnea
4. Classical air bronchogram sign on chest x ray (consolidation)
5. Hypotension of sever pneumonia
6. Cough with expectoration
7. Shortness of breath.
8. High total count (neutrophilic) on CBC.
So in respect to your query, I advice you chest x ray. If no consolidation in it than less likely to be pneumonia.
