General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Tonsillitis does give sore throat, difficulty swallowing and fever. The doctor may shine a light in your mouth and see the tonsils for white spots showing tonsillitis.
If your throat is sore if you drink cold juices it doesn't mean that you are having tonsillitis. It may be a cold or flu.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
