What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Lipitor And Nexium Together?

Hello,I have just been reading the drug interaction between Lipitor and nexium,I am taking nexium for only two prescriptions,I became concerned after reading it as I have osteopenia,and how it may change my blood levels while taking Lipitor. Thank you Marion McCosker

I can understand your problem, nothing to worry about it.
Nexium is used to treat acidity related stomach problem, usually it is given for a shorter period of time and found to have less side effects. However, when used for prolonged duration of time it can cause osteoporosis, deficiency of vit B12 and increased risk of infections.
Lipitor is used to reduced the high blood cholesterol.
Given along with Lipitor there is no documented harmful drug to drug interactions.
You are advised to kindly consult your doctor regarding the duration of the use of nexium.
