What Are The Side Effects Of Simrose?

I am trying to get pregnant for the past 6 months. Every month i am getting fever just before 10 days of my period. My doctor advised to take Simrose just 10 days before periods to solve the problem. Whether Simrose tablet will have any side effect? Also why am I getting fever before periods? I am 27 years old and got married 8 months before.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Simrose contains Evening Primrose oil (EPO). Evening Primrose oil is a source of essential fatty acids such as gamma linolenic acid (GLA) and has been used as nutritional support for a wide range of physiological functions, including joint, skin and cardiovascular health. This drug is useful in premenstrual syndrome and diabetic neuropathy. Nausea, headache and diarrhoea can occur as side effects.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
