What Are The Side Effects Of Rabies Vaccination?

sir my son got mild scratch of cat from park 2 days ago he is 3 years old is it important to get the shot of antirabies country where i am living is known as rabies free country..can i get rabies shot after two weeks and also what are the possible side effect of this vaccine

hello,
i can understand your concern.
if the vaccine is available in your country ,i would suggest you give your son the vaccine.
the vaccine is most effective when it is given immediately after getting in contact with the animal. i would suggest vaccination as early as possible. vaccine can be given upto ten days from the contact.
rabies is usually always fatal if left untreated so i would advise the vaccination given.
their are no major side effects for a anti rabies vaccine. some people might develop a rash at the site of injection and a mild fever which would subside on its own.
