What Are The Side Effects Of Prolonged Intake Of Lipitor?

Thank you. I was recently prescribed generic lipitor by my PCP. I had previously bee given a prescription for an antibiotic by my dermatoligist oonly to be filled if I had a flare up of rosacea. I did have a flare up recently and fillex the prescription. I have taken it for about 2 weeks. I just read that I shouldn t take antibiotic w/generic lipitor. What is the possible problem?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Lipitor is having atorvastatin. It is lipid lowering drug.
Ideally it should be taken at night before sleep for better therapeutic effect.
It do has drug interactions with antibiotics.
But it is better to keep 2-3 hours gap between antibiotic and Lipitor.
So you can take prescribed antibiotic till evening and take Lipitor at night before sleep.
By this you won't get any drug interactions.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
