Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have rebonded (permanently straightened) my hair about 6 months ago. Now my hair is falling out from the roots as well as breaking. I ve lost over half my hair in the last few months. I m not sure whether it s because of the rebounding though. I m been prescribed proanagen by a doctor yesterday. Is that good to take?
hello, Thanks for your query. Rebonding treatment to your hair may lead to hair loss at a later stage as it utilizes a lot of chemicals and heat during the procedure itself.
With respect to your concern regarding Proanagen , the tablet is prescribed to treat hair loss and enable skin and hair growth. Side effects , though seen , are rare . The drug mainly attacks the central Nervous system and side effects such as : 1. Depression 2.Coma 3.depression of CNS 4.Deposition Of Calcium in tissues may be observed. So,it is strongly recommended that in the event of such side effects, you discontinue the drug after consulting your physician.
Hope this helps. Thank you Regards, Dr.Pallavi Jain MBBS,MD Biochemistry
