What Are The Side Effects Of Oxycodone And Oxycontin?

I am taking oxycodone and oxycontin for my severe back and neck pain. They contain acedeminophen and I believe that that is why my stomach is always upset I can t eat because it makes it worse. I have lost 50 pounds. What should i ask my doctor to prescribe. I need relief from this extreme pain!!! Oxycodone 10/325 Oxycontin 30ml.

Hello and thanks for your question. It is the narcotic, not the acetaminophen that is causing your stomach upset. Narcotics stimulate the nausea center in the brain and make us feel nauseated. They also cause constipation which can contribute to the abdominal discomfort. Your doctor might try another form of narcotic. Some people have more gastrointestinal side effects with one type than with another. However, since you are on such a high dose of narcotic, I am not sure that there is a way to avoid the side effects. You will need to work with your doctor to find a solution to this problem.
