What Are The Side Effects Of I Pill?

Hi, On 5th June , at around 6 pm my bf and me got drunk and slept together . I do not remember having sex and he is sure that nothing of that sort has happened . But i do remember him inserting his finger in my vagina . What if they were soiled in sperms ? Also, i had my period on 28th may and on 5th June also i was down as my periods last for 10 days . In the morning on 6th June , i could feel my jeans wet . Today on 7th june morning , while eating a chapati , i had vomit feeling . What are the chances of pregnancy ? Shall i take an ipill ? what are the side effects . I have never had sex before and never had taken ipill before . I dont want my periods or body to get affected by ipill

Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Based on the description you have given, it is unlikely that you could be pregnant. Also, there is no such indication for intake of emergency contraceptive pill like i pill. You could be feeling nauseous probably because of over drinking or so.
In any case, if at all you want to take i pill, it should be taken preferably within 24 hours and before 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.
Nausea, breast tenderness, delayed menstruation, lower abdominal ache, headache, vomiting and irregular menstruation are some of the temporary side-effects of the i pill. However, these effects subside within a day or two.
Following taking i pill, you need to get breakthrough bleeding in the form of periods within 3 weeks from the day of intake of the pill. If this doesn't happen, you need to seek medical attention immediately.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
