What Are The Side Effects Of Having Dissolving Threads?

I recently had a colectomy and my Doctor put dissolving stitches inside of me and staples on the outside. My question is: Since dissolvable stitches don't dissolve in me, and they turn to hard sharp pieces of material, can they move around? and is it possibly they could get into my blood stream?
Thanks, Judy

Dissolvable stitches get dissolved in your body on its own and are not visible in the body after its completely dissolved. They do not turn into sharp objects or nor do they go into your bloodstream.
