Hi & Welcome to HCM. I appreciate your concern for the safety of emergency contraceptive pills.
Side-effects are uncommon and generally mild which may include:
Nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, headache, or menstrual irregularities. It will not protect you from contracting an STD, such as HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
Emergency contraceptive pills are for emergency use only and are not appropriate for regular use as an ongoing contraceptive method because of the high risk of failure compared with non-emergency contraceptives.
In addition, frequent use of emergency contraception can result in side-effects such as menstrual irregularities.
Hope to have answered your query.
Take care of your health.
