Hi,

Clavam has a combination of two antibiotics. They are amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. It is commonly prescribed for a variety of bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and skin infections. While most people tolerate Clavam well, some individuals may experience side effects. The common side effects of Clavam include:
- Gastrointestinal upset: This includes symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. These side effects may occur due to the disruption of the normal gut flora by the antibiotics.
- Allergic reactions: Some individuals may develop an allergic reaction to Clavam, which can cause symptoms such as hives, rash, itching, and difficulty breathing.
- Liver damage: Rarely, Clavam can cause liver damage, which can manifest as symptoms such as jaundice, dark urine, and abdominal pain.
- Kidney problems: In some cases, Clavam can cause kidney damage, which can cause symptoms such as frequent urination, pain in the abdomen or lower back, and difficulty passing urine.
- Blood disorders: In rare cases, Clavam can cause changes in blood cell counts, leading to symptoms such as bruising, bleeding, or an increased risk of infections.

If you are experiencing some side effects, speak with your doctor. They may be able to adjust your dose or switch you to a different antibiotic if necessary.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Hello,

Clavam 625 mg is a brand name for a combination antibiotic medication containing Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid. It is commonly used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections.

The Amoxicillin component of Clavam 625 mg is a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by stopping the growth and multiplication of bacteria. The Clavulanic acid component works by inhibiting the activity of enzymes produced by some bacteria that can make them resistant to antibiotics.

Clavam 625 mg is usually taken orally, with or without food, as directed by a healthcare professional. The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the severity of the infection, the patient's age, weight, and medical history.

Like any medication, Clavam 625 mg may cause side effects, such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, rash, and allergic reactions. If you have side effects, then contact your doctor immediately.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shah Hussain, General & Family Physician
