What Are The Side Effects Of Accidental Application Of Betnovate On Genitals?

Hi I have been using betnovate for psoriasis . Twice now I have accidentally handled my penis when having betnovate on my hands . The are affected by psoriasis is on my legs and arms and apply can be difficult . I noticed that the warnings say no applications to the grnitals and I was wondering what the side effects are

Betnovate contains a steroid called betamethasone. It is not advisable to apply on genitals.
The genital skin is usually delicate. It may develop hypersensitivity to any of the components in the preparation though it is rare. Redness, swelling and itching are the common symptoms. And also repeated applications may cause development of infections (especially the fungal infections) as steroids decreases the immunological response.
