What Are The Side Effects Of Zentel Tablet?

Hi, On the advice of my doctor I took zentel for possible worms, even though we were trying to get pregnant. I found out later that I am pregnant and that when I took zentel it was just 2-3 days after my husband and I had been together (it must have been right around the time of ovulation). It looks like the zentel was taken right around conception. Our doctor says there is no reason to worry. However, given the severe side effects, we are quite concerned. Is there really reason to worry? What are the side-effects we should look for? Thanks

Hello
You took zentel ( albendazole ) and you are pregnant and your ovulation day and albendazole were on same day.
There are so many side effects of zentel ,these are GI discomfort, headache, nausea, dizziness, allergic reactions, raised liver enzymes but as I have seen that these side effects are uncommon and noticed rarely .
Perhaps you are over concern .
As adequate nonhormonal contraceptive measures must be taken during & for one month after therapy.
No doubt this is contraindicated in pregnancy but this is just because this may cause abortion ( this is a reason that albendazole is contraindicated for pregnant patient ).
Since you are pregnant and no threat of any abortion , so need not worry.
This don't develop any untoward side effect on fetus .
