I have cirrohsis of the liver and have been taking xifaxan for 2 1/2 yrs. My ins. will no longer cover this medicine. I have been off the xifaxan for about 3 weeks. One of the side affects I have noticed being off the xifaxan is sever itching from head to toe. I m scratching so much that I have bruising. Thank You
Hi there, Thanks for using HCM. Headache, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting are some of the side effects of Xifaxan. Since you are off Xifaxan for more than 3 weeks, the itching you have developed is not due to it. You should consult your physician to look for the cause of itching.
Regards.
